Here are a few suggestions for a busy week with family and friends at the Moulin des Etrebières
Day 1
Take a stroll up mill hill to admire the view of the bocage and follow in the footsteps of the local people. the millers' path on the ridge. You can make a loop to get back in time for lunch.
For the more courageous, walk to the village of Mouilleron-en-Pareds, where you can have lunch at the O' Clem restaurant (remember to book for groups).
In the afternoon, visit the Clémenceau de Lattre national museum before returning to the gîte for a convivial evening.
Day 2
Session'accrobranche in the morning at Parc Aventure 79 for sports enthusiasts.
In the afternoon, spend some quality time at the gîte with your family or friends, enjoying a delicious wine. know-how workshop. Get back in touch with the pleasures of manual creation with a workshop (basketry, dry stone walling, cooking, woodwork, sewing - the possibilities are endless).
Young and old alike enjoy shaping materials and creating with their own hands.
Day 3
Visit the small town of Pouzauges and admire the view from the top of the plateau. Then find out how the windmills that once dotted the region at the end of the 19th century work. Terrier Marteau mills.
In the afternoon, visit the Réaumur science mansion.
Before heading home, visit the Bazoges dungeon and its medieval garden. If you have booked well in advance, go and dine at l'auberge du Donjon in Bazoges-en-Pareds for a gourmet meal.
Day 4
Cycling or water sports in the magnificent Mervent state forest. Take a picnic with you if you want to go away for the day.
In the afternoon, visit Fontenay-le-Comte, 'ville d'art et d'histoire' and 'coup de cœur du Guide Michelin' in 2020. It is also one of the 'Most Beautiful Detours in France'.
In the evening, watch the stars in the Etrebières sky using the telescope provided. For enthusiasts, the planetarium La Chapelle-aux-Lys and the observatory by Olivier Sauzereau will put stars in your eyes.
Day 5
Explore the Poitevin marshes with a boat trip through the trees. Cycling is also an excellent way to explore the marsh.
In the afternoon, visit the superb Maillezais Abbey.
On your way back, visit the Faymoreau mining centre.
Day 6
Bike ride to Vouvant, A small town full of character where you can stroll past artists' shops and discover the legend of the Mélusine fairy.
Don't miss the beautiful Romanesque church and its finely sculpted portal.
Continue your walk as far as Foussais-Payré, Another small town full of character, then return to the Moulin des Etrebières via the Château de la Cressonière.

Day 7
Take the quarry path to enjoy nature and magnificent views.
In the afternoon, visit the incredible gardens of William Christie in Thiré.
Day 8
A day at the must-see Puy du Fou where young and old alike can take a trip back in time with shows retracing the history of France.
On summer evenings, the Cinescénie offers a spectacular view of the lake.
